2009 Market season has ended.
It had the appearance of being a very successful year!

The second year for the farmers market in West Glacier, Montana has ended for the season. The location was moved across the street into a larger parking lot and was a major improvement. The new setup was set up in a circular pattern and I watched folks walk around the circle several times.

The Friday evening markets was attended by many of the visitors visiting Glacier National Park as well as peaking the interests of local folks. It was a lot of fun to visit with folks from all over the world, as well as chat with the park family and neighbors.

Venders types were varied, with pretty much a variety for all to choose from. There were local produce, flowers/plants, jewelery, photographers, leathersmiths, writers, many different types of craft items, and of course custom woodworking. Booths were also setup by different groups as fund raisers. At each and every market there was live music provided by local talent. We very much look forward to being a part of it next spring and another season. If you missed it this year make sure you put it on your calendar for next year.

This year we decided to attend and help support the Columbia Falls Farmers Market. It was held on Thursday evenings from 5 - 7 PM near the new Dicovery Center in downtown Columbia Falls, Montana. The Market started off with a steady flow of visitors and local folks. with more than 50 vendors, more food, big music, and fun. And of course, as always, lots of shade, places to sit, and comfortable festive atmosphere. Sadly this led to most folks coming for the party and therefore, we stopped setting up there. The time and effort required to setup, takedown and drive did not make it worthwhile.

We were once again this year attending the Kalispell, MT Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. This market has grown beyond their wildest expectations, with over a hundred different vendors. The flow of customers was steady for the whole market. Again this year there is a great variety of crafts and plenty of choices for fresh vegetables, flowers and all types of live plants, not to mention various food venders. With more orders than I could keep up with, I limited the number of times I set up there.

Between the various farmers markets, shows and traffic from the website we had another great year.

Only limited by being a single person shop with big dreams, I have high hopes of continually expanding our product line, as well as attending more of the area summer shows. As plans are made for upcoming shows we will post them here.

2009 took off with a bang with no let up in sight. Being able to get out in the public and meet and greet lots of people has been a very good experience. The past year showed a constant flow of requests for Splinters Woodworks.com from all over the country and also local contacts we had met at local shows and markets. We thank each and everyone of you for your support.
